MOORHEAD — As part of homecoming festivities, Minnesota State Moorhead marked the reopening of Weld Hall following a $23 million renovation. While Weld Hall reopened to students at the start of the semester, the celebration Friday morning, Oct. 9, offered the general public its first look at the project. Weld Hall, pictured on Oct. 8, 2026, is home to the Minnesota State University Moorhead English Department, Dean s Suite for the College of Arts and Humanities, and the Honors College. It also added a new entrance facing Sixth Avenue South and restored the auditorium's balcony, bringing capacity to 400. New to Weld Hall is an eye-catching sculpture hanging above the south entrance stairwell. The piece, made by artist April Wagner, features roughly 275 individually blown glass ribbons,
