One person died after a tree fell onto a home in Birmingham’s Huffman area during overnight storms, according to the Jefferson County Emergency Management Agency.In a statement released Saturday, the agency said the storms were associated with Hurricane Isaias. Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service and the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office are handling the fatal incident. Officials did not release the person’s identity.The agency said it received multiple reports of trees damaging homes across Jefferson County but was not aware of any additional storm-related injuries.Power outages, downed trees and debris remained the county’s primary concerns as public works personnel, first responders and utility crews worked to clear roads and restore electricity.Officials urged residents to remain patient as crews carry out potentially hazardous recovery work.Click here to download our free news, weather and smart TV apps.
