UCF students and student-athletes will team up with Orlando Health on Monday to build space-themed ride-on cars for Central Florida children with limited mobility.The Go Baby Go! event will bring together more than 20 UCF physical therapy students, student-athletes and Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute team members to modify and decorate 10 battery-powered ride-on cars.Five Central Florida children will receive the customized cars, which can include supportive seating and adapted controls designed to help children move and play more independently.The build will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 12, at UCF’s Wayne Densch Center for Student-Athlete Leadership. Families are expected to arrive for the car presentation around 11:15 a.m.The space-themed event comes ahead of UCF’s 10th annual Space Game on Oct. 30.UCF said its Go Baby Go! program has provided more than 220 specially modified cars to children since the university’s chapter began in 2015.Click here to download our free new
